Humanities Foundation completed a three week summer camp program for the children residing at Seven Farms Apartments located on Daniel Island, SC.
The program offered a wide variety of recreational and educational activities such as swimming lessons, soccer lessons from the Charleston Battery, bowling, a kickball tournament, and field trips to the USS Yorktown, the Citadel, and downtown historic Charleston. The children also enjoyed outings to the movies, Splash Zone Waterpark, a local art studio, and much more. They had a blast!
Enhancing the lives of the youth residing in our communities has become an important initiative. It is our goal to link economically disadvantaged, at-risk children to positive role models and leaders. We want to encourage our youth to become a positive asset to the community in which they live. In providing the summer camp program, space is created where children, many of whom might not be able to attend such a camp otherwise, can learn skills and receive the support that can help them grow into healthy successful adults.
Thank you to all our supporters in making the summer camp program a great success! A special thank you to the Daniel Island Community Fund (DICF) for making such an experience possible for the children of our Seven Farms Apartments Community.
