CAHEC Highlights “Movie on the Lawn” Series

Every summer the Humanities Foundation provides a free 3-week summer camp for the children residing at Seven Farms Apartments located on Daniel Island, SC. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the camp was postponed until 2021 or further notice. However, that did not stop the Resident Services Team from providing something for the children, families and seniors of the community to look forward to. By following CDC safety precautions and in partnership with the DICF and the Church of the Holy Cross, Humanities established its first “Movie on the Lawn” series. During the month of August, every Thursday, a movie was shown outdoors in the commons area for all residents to attend. Residents enjoyed pizza, popcorn and snow cones. It was a hit! The event gave residents something to look forward to after being cooped up all summer from the pandemic. At the series finale, all children of the community received a free pair of brand new shoes thanks to the Church of the Holy Cross.
