Joseph Lamar Mowatt
Director of Resident Services and Community Relations
Lamar leads community and resident services for the Humanities Foundation. He oversees needs assessments and collaborates with community groups, churches, and other nonprofit organizations with the goal of developing life-changing and life-affirming services for Humanities Foundation residents. He established the youth services program, and he is a key contributor to the success of the Marketplace food delivery service—which has exceeded four million pounds of food distributed to residents and the community. Lamar earned a Bachelor of Science from North Carolina A&T State University. He also serves on the Charleston Area Justice Ministry (CAJM) Affordable Housing Committee.
